For those of us who like our vehicles and want them to be clean and look good all the time Central Car Wash has proven to be a popular place in the last ten years. The company has just completed a renovation and upgrade to today’s newest technology to provide their customers with an even better experience.

“ We did a complete renovation with the equipment and a renovation to the building. The equipment was in good shape but technology changes and we felt we could take advantage of some efficiencies with the new equipment. It is now faster and safer for the vehicles and with a
little bit less labour producing a better product,” said Jason Earl, GM of Central Car Wash which opened in October,1998. “ We converted all our wraps to foam  which is light and doesn’t trap the dirt  and limits scratching.  A cloth wrap can weight 300 pounds wet but the foam is
only 70 pounds. It spins quicker and the core of the wrap is further away from the vehicle.  We were able to convert some of the old equipment. We knocked down one of the offices to enlarge our waiting room to enhance the customer experience by making it more inviting.
Four windows have been added so you can view your car going through the tunnel. Two of the other windows were expanded which is good for the kids. A really fun addition is Sudzilla, a soap canon controlled by a joy stick so the kids and adults can squirt brightly coloured soap  on their car.”

Central Car Wash is a full service gas station and a detail facility which allows high end polishing, waxing and full interior cleaning including shampooing. They are a Krown rust proof dealer as  well. Their car washes range from $10.95 and up and full service is $16.95.  Hours open are Mon to Saturday 8 to 6pm and Sunday 10 to 5 pm.    “ Our primary business is the car wash and our goal is to become the premier car wash facility in Thunder Bay. That is the main reason for the renovation. We want to put as many cars through full service as we can. We can  also take the car from the wash tunnel to the detail centre for a thorough interior clean,”  said Jason Earl.  “ On a busy day up to 500 cars mostly full serve come through our facility. We feel
these equipment upgrades will help us accomplish more cars and improve our overall quality. We have 60 to 70 staff as it is a very labour intensive service. We need 25 people in the car wash alone to put the cars through. I would say we are equivalent to the bigger city full
service car wash facilities. Technology has changed to do full serve and quicker service or flex. We are known for a full serve.”
