In the showroom of Badanai Motors in Thunder Bay is a brand new, much talked about and promoted car, the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.  “ We launched the Cruze in Thunder Bay the week of October 25th. It had already been introduced into 60 different countries around the world and they have sold over 600,000 of them already. It was launched in Europe first and then in the US  and at the same time in Canada,” said  Pat Spina, Sales Manager, Badanai Motors in Thunder Bay.
The car is now being manufactured in Detroit and will be built in Oshawa shortly. It is a global car and made in Europe as well. The car starts at $14,995 and can go up to $28,000 with all options including leather seats, turbo charged engine,  ground effects, 18 inch wheels
and so on. The entry level Cruze comes with a manual transmission and you can add many options.
“ GM has done a lot with this car. The market is everyone from a teenager to a retired person. It is a car to touch everyone. It has the best mileage in the  compact segment at 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers,” said Spina. “ I love the car, it is stylish and has a lot of pep. You have to drive it to really get the feel of this vehicle. It handles very quietly. It is the best car in the segment. The car has been well designed with safety in mind with 10 air bags  on all models and  has
traction control. The Cruze is the wave of the future for GM. It is on the cutting edge, like the Malibu and the Equinox have been.  Before they sent the launch out they made  sure every dealership had the car.  We have 5 on ground with 7  more being shipped so we will have good supply. The Cruze is replacing the Cobalt and is miles ahead in terms of advancement.”
“ We have had  a great sales year at Badanai Motors. Car sales , trucks and SUV’s have all been up. GM has done a great job on the new vehicles and this is bringing in a lot of people who have been European and Japanese auto consumers, we haven’t seen before. The quality, fit and finish and warranties  are second to none. The value is tremendous with the standard and safety features,” said Spina. “  You have to come in and drive the car. It is an unbelievable car.”
If you want you own specifications it takes about 6 weeks if you order a CRUZE. GM has relaunched their financing  entity GMAC as ALLY in Canada.
