Tom Jones Corporation Complete Lakehead University Braun Building Renovations
The Braun Building at Lakehead University had a fire July 2008 which required an extensive renovation undertaken by Tom Jones Corporation of Thunder Bay?This project consisted initially the restoration of fire damaged areas which included a partially collapsed roof due to the heat of the fire on structural members. The scope of work increased with the total replacement of the University Data System. There was approximately 16,000 sq.ft. of renovated area with the project cost approximately $5.9 million dollars which was undertaken in
approximately 18 months.

- Construction was carried out during a fully operational University while classes were in session.
- Isolation of existing computer in renovated area while new Data Room is being constructed
The work went smooth and timely fashion with the great cooperation of L.U. and entire Design Team according to Parker Jones, Estimator/ Project Manager with Tom Jones Corporation
Also the subtrades engaged in this project are known to provide services to keep the project on schedule
The Tom Jones Corporation has had a strong relationship over the years with Lakehead University with a proven record of completing projects on time and on budget. Other projects Tom Jones have completed at Lakehead University include The Education Centre / University Pub / Arts Building / School of Medicine NOSM.
The new renovation will be a great addition to Lakehead University.
